陳劭桐 Toby Chan - 巴松管 Bassoon

陳劭桐在2016年獲聘任為香港管弦樂團的聯合首席巴松管手。他熱衷於樂團演出工作,曾參與紐約愛樂樂團、波士頓交響樂團及BBC威爾斯國家交響樂團的演出。他曾與多位世界知名指揮家的指揮家演出,包括狄信‧湯瑪士、尼爾森斯、杜托華、馬捷爾及雷西等。在2015及2016年夏季,他是美國tanglewood音樂節的樂團成員。
在2014年,陳氏被邀請與香港雙簧管合奏團在紐約舉行的國際雙簧會議中演出。在2011至2014年,他於香港巴松管合奏團巴松館擔任副主席,並透過舉辦不同音樂會,向普羅大眾推廣巴松管這種樂器。他是2011年香港演藝學院協奏曲比賽的優勝者,與演藝交響樂團演出雲賀爾的《雙巴松管協奏曲》。另外,他亦獲選為香港電台「2012樂壇新秀」,並為電台錄製唱片、電台錄音和電視節目。 |
陳氏於香港演藝學院畢業,師承香港管弦樂團首席巴松管莫班文。隨後他在美國茱莉亞音樂學院取得碩士學位,師承紐約愛樂首席巴松管手拉克雷爾,並獲取萬瑞庭音樂基金獎學金和茱莉亞音樂學院獎學金。他現於香港演藝學院擔任室內合奏導師。
Hong Kong bassoonist Toby Chan was appointed Co-principal Bassoon of the Hong Kong Philharmonic (HK Phil) in 2016. As an active orchestral musician, he has performed with orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra and the BBC national orchestra of welsh. He has worked under the batons of world renowned conductors including Michael Tilson Thomas, Andris Nelsons, Charles Dutoit, Lorin Maazel, Fabio Luisi, to name a few. In summer of 2015 and 2016, he was an orchestra fellow at the Boston symphony’s Tanglewood Music Festival. He was also a member of the Asian Youth Orchestra in 2010 and 2011.
In 2014, Chan was invited to perform with The Hong Kong Obsession at the International Double Reed Conference in New York. From 2011 to 2014, he held the vice-chairman position of Hong Kong bassoon ensemble The Bassoonion, and gave numerous ensemble concerts aimed at promoting the bassoon to the public. He was a winner of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) Concerto Trial 2011 and performed the Vanhal's Concerto for Two Bassoons with HKAPA's Academy Symphony Orchestra. He was chosen as one of the "2012 Young Music Makers" by the Radio Television of Hong Kong (RTHK) and recorded an album, radio and television programmes with RTHK.
After graduating from the HKAPA under the tutelage of Mr. Benjamin Moermond, Principal Bassoon of the HK Phil, Chan received his Master of Music degree at the Juilliard School in New York, under Ms. Judith LeClair, the Principal Bassoon of the New York Philharmonic. He was awarded the Bernard van Zuiden Music Fund Scholarship and the Juilliard Scholarship in support of his education. He is currently serving as an instructor of the chamber music faculty in the HKAPA.
